More than hats, it's an experience.

Launched in May 2024, Republic Boot Co. partnered with Houston-based small business BunnyDoll Designs to bring an immersive, one-of-a-kind Texas hat bar experience to life. Republic Hat Bar is a dedicated space inside the boot shop where you’ll find premium men’s and women’s hats in a range of styles, shapes, and colors. As of June 2025, Republic Boot Co. purchased its 100-year-old historic Heights building and expanded the popular hat bar into a brand new, larger space for even more guests to enjoy!

The moment you walk in our doors, the scent of handcrafted leather welcomes you into an unforgettable Western experience. Enjoy a complimentary drink as you are toured amongst Republic’s one-of-a-kind space- where Texas heritage and handcraftsmanship comes to life. As you walk beyond our infamous 1836 the boot wall, to the right you will find the walkway into our new hat bar space.

Alexa Albrecht

Republic Hat Bar, Manager + Lead Designer

At the heart of the Hat Bar is Alexa Albrecht, owner and sole designer of local small business BunnyDoll Designs. A Texas native, Alexa is known for her one-of-a-kind, handmade gemstone jewelry and custom hat creations- specializing in both men's & women's designs. Her work draws inspiration from modern Western and coastal influences, blending authenticity with artistry to deliver truly unforgettable pieces.

HOW IT WORKS

DESIGN EXPERIENCE

Get sized and shaped for a hat from us or bring your own!

Much like our custom boot design process, the Hat Bar is interactive and hands-on. With guidance from our hat customization expert Alexa and her design assistants- we’ll create a timeless, personalized piece for you to take home with you that same day. We carry a wide selection of hat accessories and make the process for you as easy as possible with the help of our team..

Each guest is given a basket to pull as many decorations as desired to pair/ narrow down from to achieve your perfect design. During the design experience, you'll be able to pull up a seat at the hat bar and watch the designer make style suggestions/ create your hat while enjoying your complementary cocktail.

WHAT TO EXPECT

HAT DECOR TIMING

Depending on the decor package, shaping or customization requested (and to allow yourself time for selecting accessories)- each guest should expect to be with us up to 45 minutes or less for completing the hat. For group appointments, up to 2 hours.

*Please note, if your design requires detailed work (like stitching or hand-burned art by Alexa), your order will ready for pickup at a later date.*

APPOINTMENT TIME SLOTS

For individual bookings, you will be given a 45 minute time slot.

For group bookings of 5 or less, you will be given 90 minutes.

We can accomodate to larger group events of 30 or more.

During busier times of rodeo season,

we kindly ask that you arrive on time for your appointment.

If you’re more than 15 minutes late,

we may need to reschedule & offer the appointment time

to another guest.
